British pharmaceutical company GSK is growing its Greater Boston lab space, having acquired an additional 155,000 sq ft to add onto their Cambridge RNA and viral therapies lab site.  Their current lab is 40,000 sq ft - this acquisition will bring their Cambridge site to over 200,000 sq ft.  You can read more about it here.

Danish pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk announced that it will be expanding its Research & Development operations in the Greater Boston area, bringing more than 200 new jobs to its Watertown, Cambridge and Lexington branches.  You can read more about it here.

 Novo Nordisk is investing heavily in the Boston area.  In November, they announced their plans to convert a 100,000 sq ft space into a state-of-the-art lab focusing on their RNA interference research.  They’ve become a huge player in this space after acquiring Dicerna Pharmaceuticals, also based out of Lexington, in November of 2021.

Brookline To Debate New Zoning Regulations


A new law has been proposed requiring an MBTA community to have at least one zoning district of reasonable size in which multi-family housing is permitted and requiring a minimum gross density of 15 units per acre, located no further than 0.5 miles from an MBTA stop, and no restrictions based on age, having to be suitable for families with children.  Its introduction has shaken the communities along the MBTA lines, especially Brookline, where many believe there has already been too much development.
